Hi All,

Sally Chesterfield from Southland LandSAR advises that there are a few vacancies on a SARINZ Active Team Leaders course to be held at Borlin (hopefully the correct spelling) Lodge near Manapouri from the 15th to 17th of November.

Those that have attended this course recommend it highly.
The course needs a couple people to make it viable so please pass this message on to your Members. This course has nothing to do with LandSAR.

There will be a cost to attendees estimated at $150 all up (Not including travel)

If anyone is interested in attending then please contact Sally at sally.chesterfield@southernruralfire.org.nz

Suburban Search Course Roxburgh 20-21 August

Suburban Search deals with methods, planning, categories and systems for searching in the urban environment.

Each year 13000 people are reported missing to the Police and most cases are resolved within 48 hours…. But what about the others?

When we are called out to help search and a residential area – are we ready with the knowledge of where to look and what hazards or possible hiding places we will confront? This course will give you the knowledge to effect better search methods and an understanding of where to look and why.

If you are interested please let Ed Halson know soonest to ensure you book a place on this course.

LandSAR ROADSHOW

Please find the LandSAR Roadshow schedule in PDF below. Should you wish to attend the one in ALEXANDRA on Sunday, 31st July, please let know Robert Taylor

Robert needs to know immediately so he can update your details accordingly - so you are filed as a LandSAR member - then you will:

- be entitled to an ID Card

- get various discounts negotiated for LandSAR members

- have insurance cover (in case of an accident whilst on a SAROP)
